An automatic apparatus for mechanically agitating ice cubes stored in the storage bin of an ice cube maker to obviate cube agglomerates resulting from fusion of stored cubes to each other. 

The agitator system of the invention includes means for ensuring that agitation takes place automatically at spaced time intervals for finite limited periods.
